How the ranking data is calculated
Data sources and collection
Collection scope We collect the public game charts of the Apple App Store and Google Play (revenue and free popularity) in Korea, Japan, the US, China and Taiwan, up to rank 200. China is collected for the App Store only, and ONE store and Galaxy Store are not included.
Collection schedule Data is collected several times a day, and the update time shown is the last collection time. Daily history is saved once a day. Depending on when the store updates, it may differ from the current store ranking.
Linking to game pages App IDs in the charts are linked to the GamerScroll Game DB so they lead to game pages. Games not in the DB show only their name.
How each ranking is calculated
Daily revenue and popularity rankings Latest ranks from the store charts we collected. Changes compare with the daily history saved the day before, and the 7-day trend uses the daily records of the last 7 days. Consecutive days at #1 are calculated from the daily history.
Monthly combined Each day’s rank in the month is averaged per store, and then the two store averages are averaged again. Days outside the chart (beyond #200) count as #201, so games that rank high in both stores every day have the advantage. It is a rank-based indicator, not a revenue estimate.
Global chart index From 9 charts (China includes the App Store only), points are assigned as 200 for #1, 1 for #200 and 0 for outside the chart, then summed. There are no country or store weights, so games that enter many charts have an advantage, and the index does not represent actual revenue or a worldwide revenue ranking.
Annual records Only records for the year of the latest collection date are counted. We show cumulative days at #1 on the Korea App Store, the longest streak at #1, cumulative rank points (201 − rank each day), the top 3 by monthly cumulative points, and the first recorded rank of the year. The longest TOP 10 streak is calculated separately for the App Store and Google Play, and a streak breaks at a year boundary, a missed collection day or a day outside the TOP 10. Points are not revenue, and the current year and month are counted up to the latest collection date.
Publisher ranking Games in today’s Korea revenue TOP 200 across both stores are grouped by publisher and their (200 − rank + 1) points are summed. Differences in corporate suffixes (Corp., Co., Ltd., etc.) are treated as the same publisher.
Subculture Only games on the subculture list (collectible, anime-style and anime-based games) maintained by GamerScroll are picked out of the full revenue chart. The rank numbers are the ranks in the full chart.
Notes on interpretation
Rankings vs. actual revenue Mobile rankings and points are based on public store charts and do not represent actual revenue or download counts.
Historical data adjustments Early December 2025 history was stored in an initial format with titles only and no app IDs, so it is linked using names and aliases in the Game DB. Some games that could not be linked may be missing from the rankings for that period.
Corrections If a game is linked incorrectly, a subculture game is missing, or a publisher grouping is wrong, fixing it in the Game DB updates all ranking pages from the next build.
