About GamerScroll

What it covers

GamerScroll records and analyzes game ranking data every day. We collect the revenue and free-popularity rankings of the Apple App Store and Google Play (Korea, Japan, the US, China and Taiwan, up to rank 200) and Steam concurrent-player and sales rankings (TOP 100), and organize them into daily rankings and monthly, annual, genre and publisher records.

Game DB collects the ranking trend and history of every game we track.

Who makes it

GamerScroll is built and run solo by game developer Plankton. The same person also runs the AI tools and coding agent blog AIScroll.

How the data is made

We collect the public store charts several times a day and save the daily history once a day, then calculate indicators such as trends, consecutive days at #1 and monthly averages. We do not provide revenue estimates; every indicator is calculated from ranking records.

The collection scope, schedule and formula behind each ranking are explained in How the ranking data is calculated.

What this site does not have

We do not publish rewritten press releases, assertions about games nobody has played, or revenue estimates without evidence. Every figure is calculated from ranking data that GamerScroll records itself.
